Five Minutes With: Vancouver Multidisciplinary Singer Toddy

In a world brimming with avenues for self-expression, Toddy stands at the forefront of innovation. Blending elements of drag, standup comedy, opera, classical, and pop music, Toddy (she/they) is reshaping the landscape of pop stardom with their upcoming debut album, “Always.” Hailing from Vancouver, Toddy’s journey began with a childhood teddy bear that inspired their chosen moniker. From performing in the Children’s Chorus and operas in Calgary to studying opera at McGill University in Montreal, Toddy’s artistic evolution took them on a path that seamlessly intertwined comedy and drag. Drawing inspiration from a diverse musical palette including rock, opera, and pop, Toddy leverages their classical training to craft a captivating collection of tracks on “Always.” With influences ranging from Kylie Minogue and Christine And The Queens to KISS and David Bowie, Toddy’s music pulsates with energy and glamour, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary pop music.
