What is your channel called and what is it about?

My main platforms are under @chaltner. I create lifestyle and travel content focused on cozy living, home inspiration, fashion, wellness, and travel experiences. A lot of my content blends cinematic storytelling with everyday moments, whether that’s exploring a new destination, decorating spaces, or sharing slower routines between Vancouver and the Okanagan.

When did you start it? What motivated you at the beginning?

I started creating content several years ago because I’ve always loved photography, storytelling, and creative editing. At first, it was simply a creative outlet and a way to document my life and travels, but over time it evolved into something much bigger. I was motivated by the idea of creating content that could inspire people and make everyday life feel a little more beautiful and intentional.

Who were you inspired by? Any influences?

I’ve always been inspired by creators who make lifestyle content feel cinematic and emotional rather than overly curated. I also take a lot of inspiration from travel photography, interior design, film, fashion campaigns, and even cozy everyday moments. My style has developed naturally over time through experimenting with editing, storytelling, and visual aesthetics.

How would you describe your audience?

My audience is mainly people who love lifestyle, travel, cozy aesthetics, fashion, wellness, and home content. A lot of them enjoy aspirational but still relatable content and are drawn to slower, more intentional living and visually immersive storytelling.

What is your creative process? Do you have people who work with you?

Most of my creative process starts with inspiration from places, moods, or moments I want to capture. I usually plan concepts visually first, then shoot content organically while travelling or during everyday life. Editing is a huge part of the process because I love creating a cinematic feeling through pacing, colour, and music. I currently handle most of the creative direction, filming, editing, and brand communication myself.

How do you monetize your content? Do you also have another job?

I monetize my content primarily through brand partnerships, tourism collaborations, sponsored campaigns, and social media content creation. I work with brands in the travel, hospitality, fashion, lifestyle, and home spaces. Alongside content creation, I also work a full-time job, so balancing both has taught me a lot about time management, creativity, and staying organized while continuing to grow my platforms.

What is your favourite piece of content you have created?

One of my favourite pieces of content I’ve created was during a trip to Costa Rica, where I worked with an animal rescue organization to help raise awareness and encourage donations. That experience was especially meaningful to me because it combined storytelling and travel content with something that could make a real impact. Being able to use my platform to help bring attention to the rescue, the animals, and their mission made the content feel much more personal and rewarding than just creating for aesthetics alone. It reminded me how powerful social media can be when it’s used to support causes and connect people with something meaningful.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part is getting to be creative every day and turning ideas into something people connect with. I also love the opportunities to travel, collaborate with brands, and build a community around shared interests and aesthetics. The hardest part is probably balancing creativity with the business side of content creation and constantly being “online,” especially while trying to stay authentic and avoid burnout.

What are your future plans for your channel?

I want to continue growing my platforms while expanding more into long-form storytelling, travel series, and home-focused content. I’m also excited to share more projects around cozy living, interior styling, and creating spaces that feel intentional and inspiring.
