Connie's Cravings

What is your business called and what does it do?

Connie’s Cravings is a small cookie business located in the heart of Vancouver, BC. With at least 12 unique flavours, our soft and chewy cookies are all handmade with love and baked fresh daily! We hope to share our sweet treats with everyone and to bring a smile to their faces as we “satisfy their cravings!”

What made you want to do this work?

During the midst of the pandemic, I was sadly laid off as I worked as a Graphic Designer for a tourism agency. I’ve always had a passion for baking and I found joy in creating sweet treats and sharing them with my family and friends to brighten their day. It then led me to wanting to share my love for cookies with my local community! The idea of sharing my creations and bringing a bit of sweetness to someone’s life motivated me to start Connie’s Cravings!

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

I wanted to provide a place where people could enjoy high-quality, handmade cookies that are not only delicious but also made with love and care. I aimed to create a welcoming space in the community where people could satisfy their cravings for freshly baked cookies.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Our clientele is diverse, ranging from cookie enthusiasts of all ages to locals and tourists in Vancouver who appreciate handmade, premium-quality cookies. We cater to anyone with a sweet tooth and a love for delightful, flavorful treats. We also have a savory option like our Say Cheese cookie which is a twist of the infamous Cheesy Ritz Cracker! Connie’s Cravings is the perfect treat for any gatherings, occasion and corporate events!

How does your business make money? How does it work?

We sell our cookies online and through local markets and events. Every time we’re able to meet and connect with our customers, it’s the most rewarding and joyful feeling! We also partner with different corporate businesses to help provide staff with treats on special occasions.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

You’re able to pre-order our cookies online for local delivery within the Lower Mainland or pick-up in the heart of Vancouver (we’re based in a commercial kitchen)! Our website will always be updated with local events and Farmers Markets we’ll be attending as well, allowing customers to enjoy our cookies at their convenience!

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

Prospective customers might ask, “What sets Connie’s Cravings apart from other cookie businesses?” At Connie’s Cravings, every cookie is handmade with love, and we prioritize using premium ingredients to create a variety of unique flavours like our Coconut Ube, Matcha Mochi, Teddy S’more and even a Creme Brulee Cookie! Our goal is not just to sell cookies but to bring joy and satisfaction to our customers with each bite. You won’t be able to find our gourmet cookies anywhere else!

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part is definitely seeing the joy on our customers’ faces when they bite into one of our freshly baked cookies. The worst part, I would say, is the early mornings spent baking to ensure we always have a fresh batch ready for our customers, but the wonderful feedback and comments we get from customers make it all worthwhile!

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

“I didn’t want to work a 9-5 job so I started my own business, now I work 24/7” – Tiktok

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?

Our friends from Yum Ice Freeze Dried sell freeze-dried candy! They are also a local small business within the same commercial kitchen and we love the fun twist they put towards normal candy.
