From the mean, and rather flat streets of Regina, came a man – NAY, A … no, actually ‘a man’ is accurate. Some say an enormous man – though they are themselves small. For while this man be of a notable stature – he’s in and around the 6-foot mark; but with an undeniably enormous heart (metaphorically)! An actor, a dancer, an entertainer – an artist true and true. From stoking uproarious laughter in the days of acclaimed sketch group “I Can’t Believe it’s not Butter Chicken” – to taking the main stage of Canada’s (second) largest Shakespeare Festival – today you can catch Vancouver’s kindest guy as none other than the Bard’s most cursed villain, Lord Macbeth. A versatile artist from indie arts to the world stage, you may find him in the backroom of a tiny indie venue premiering his solo-show-meets-underground-dance-party “Danceboy”; warming hearts and lifting spirits in “The East Van Panto”; touring the world as “Bhima”, the mightiest hero of the Mahabharata; or simply strolling through your East Van neighborhood on a long winding walk and talk with friends. And like a true Desi lad – he’s never more excited than when his parents come to visit. This is Munish Sharma.
