Guilty pleasure song:

Whenever our spirits get low in the van, someone inevitably puts on Lady In Red by Chris DeBurgh

Live show ritual:

We literally slap each other in the face before we walk onstage. But we are trying to develop this more into a series of complicated hand slaps like cool athletes do.

Favourite local musician:

If Canadians can be considered local, then we have gotten to know the great roots/rock band The Hello Darlins at several festivals and conferences, and they are as lovely as they are talented.

EP or LP?

Individually we’re mostly album people, but on the road it’s more likely that someone in the front seat is playing DJ one song at a time.

Early bird or night owl?

Now that half the band are parents, we’d have to say reluctant early birds.

Road or studio?

Alternate em.

Any shows or albums coming up?

Our new album No Help Coming is out in the world. And the world premiere of our new theatre show (a collaboration with Ballet BC) takes place at the amazing Massey Theatre in New Westminster, BC, on April 13th. Tickets here.

Commercial Drive, of course, as it is where The Fugitives were born and bred (RIP Cafe Deux Soleils).

Stanley Park because it is big and ancient

What is your favourite music venue in your city?

That awesome little jazz club above the Penthouse, Tyrant Studios

This is not an exciting answer, but Long & McQuade, because every Canadian musician should get down on their knees daily and thank the gods for L&M rental rates, return policies and multi-city gear drops.
