The Fugitives are an acoustic folk-roots group headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod. They’re joined by banjo player Chris Suen (Viper Central) and violinist Carly Frey (The Coal Porters). Over their first five albums, they’ve amassed a JUNO nomination, 6 CFMA nominations, and toured extensively through Canada, Europe, and the UK. Across many European, UK and Canadian tours and festivals, the band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows, brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling, and top-notch musicianship.

We literally slap each other in the face before we walk onstage. But we are trying to develop this more into a series of complicated hand slaps like cool athletes do.
Favourite local musician:
If Canadians can be considered local, then we have gotten to know the great roots/rock band The Hello Darlins at several festivals and conferences, and they are as lovely as they are talented.
EP or LP?
Individually we’re mostly album people, but on the road it’s more likely that someone in the front seat is playing DJ one song at a time.

Now that half the band are parents, we’d have to say reluctant early birds.

Kwan Luck Restaurant– unbelievable Chinese seafood that our banjo player Christopher has taken us to a couple of times.

Commercial Drive, of course, as it is where The Fugitives were born and bred (RIP Cafe Deux Soleils).
What is your favourite park in your city and why?
Stanley Park because it is big and ancient
