Meet Woody! Woody is a goofy 7-year-old Dachshund who is ready to start his weight loss journey! When Woody came to the BCSPCA, he was more than double his ideal weight and was having trouble walking short distances or climbing onto beds. Staff immediately started him on a diet and began the process of building his exercise tolerance, and he has been an absolute trooper! He is already having an easier time moving around and is showing off more and more of his playful side. Woody is looking for a forever home that is dedicated to helping him shed his extra pounds, regain his mobility, and ensure he lives a long and pain-free life.
Woody is trained to use pee pads and doesn’t mind being around other dogs. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and can be vocal when he is left alone, but can hear people moving around nearby. He struggles with stairs, so staircases should be gated off, and he will need to be carried up and down any stairs in his forever home. While he is still working on building his stamina, he loves to hang out in the sunshine and sniff around the neighbourhood.
Are you ready to help Woody shed those extra pounds and live a long and happy life? Come visit him at the Vancouver SPCA today!
