Rupert is a handsome 6-year-old Shiba Inu looking for his forever home! As he’s settled in with us, he’s revealed more and more of his quirky charm. In the morning, he is very eager to go out on a walk; he trots along with great purpose. But once his morning mission is complete, he becomes a true cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to sit in your lap.
Because Rupert arrived as a stray, his past is a bit of a mystery, but we know his future is bright. We’ve learned he is reactive with other dogs, so he’s seeking a pet-free home where he can soak up all the attention. Rupert would thrive in an adult-only home with a Shiba-savvy adopter who understands the quirks of the breed. Because of his dog reactivity, Rupert would not do well in an apartment setting unless he ground level outdoor access. We are seeking a detached home or townhouse for him.
Rupert is a sweet boy who loves to be around his people. He knows some basic commands and would benefit from some additional training. Rupert loves yummy snacks, which will make training rewarding and fun.
