Leah Abramson is the singer, songwriter, and composer behind The Abramson Singers. Leah has released four albums of original music and has contributed to dozens of other albums as a songwriter and vocalist.
From 2006 to 2014, The Abramson Singers toured Canada, the UK and Europe extensively, reaching #1 on the CBC Radio 3 National Indie Chart and #11 on the National Earshot Top 50 chart with their album Late Riser (2013). Leah has also toured as part of folk bands Dyad and The Crooked Jades, as well as indie-rockers Octoberman.
In the intervening years, Leah has written and created a large-scale interdisciplinary production (Songs For A Lost Pod), has taught songwriting at retreats and academically, and has become an award-winning choral composer.
Past Abramson Singers band members continue in the project (Tyson Naylor on keyboards and Dan Gaucher on Drums), while new collaborators Jason Starnes on guitar (Kids These Days, Bells Clanging) and Mark Beaty on bass (The Be Good Tanyas) bring fresh ideas and sounds.
