“A Day in the Life” with: Vancouver Visual Artist Carylann Loeppky

Carylann Loeppky is a Vancouver-(born and bred) based painter whose career spans more than three decades.

Before dedicating herself fully to painting, she worked as an art director in graphic design and multimedia, creating album artwork and branding for musicians—a path that earned her a few Juno Award nominations.

She has developed a prolific and immersive studio with a daily practice, spending long hours bringing her visions to life. Her subjects, often women, possess a striking vitality, appearing both familiar and ethereal. They radiate emotion and presence, drawing viewers into a world that is intimate, mysterious, and alive.

Drawing inspiration from European painters of centuries past, she honours those, blending classical sensibilities with a contemporary edge. Creating works in both small and large formats and a variety of surfaces, ensuring her art is accessible to all, she attracts a wide audience, and her work is available for all budgets to enjoy and take home. Her art is a celebration of life, and she believes everyone should have the opportunity to live with and enjoy original art. Her desire is to offer collectors and viewers a glimpse into her world, engaging them with the beauty, presence, and vitality of each piece.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including Los Angeles, Croatia, Toronto, Vancouver, Tokyo, Miami, London, UK, and Montréal, with respected galleries such as Wonzimer, SHOWstudio, and BBAM! Gallery. Her work is widely collected, her paintings celebrate the enduring power of human presence, imagination, and the joy of living with art.
