Homegrown Business: Cheryl Krecsy of Little White House

The Little White House in Fort Langley is charming. It’s like a living dollhouse full of carefully curated treasures ranging from home goods and furnishings to their own in-house clothing line. We spoke with Cheryl Krecsy, who co-owns The Little White House with her daughter, Natasha, to learn more about this family business.

Little White House

What is your business called and what does it do?

We are a soft style of living boutique & a Salon Cafe (Tea House) offering French/European Antiques & Vintage, In-House Fashion Brands.

What made you want to do this work?

I wanted to create a charming business for women of all ages. A place to get away from the day-to-day stresses & life’s responsibilities. A pretty place to leisurely shop or relax & visit over High Tea or just a latte & sweet petit.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

Many café & restaurant menus & interior design are created with men in mind & I designed LWH mainly for women from 8 to 88.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Everyone is welcome and our home wares, fashions & menu are ever changing depending on the season & celebrations.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

From my knowledge, we are one of a kind in a one-of-a-kind historic home. Each room is lovingly curated, and we offer Afternoon Tea service daily, plus for all those special celebrations.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

We are located in Fort Langley.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part of owning LWH for me is that I have been able to work closely with my talented & hardworking daughter, Natasha Issak. We both love to see & hear women having a most wonderful time.

Worst Part…Natasha can answer this one.

Natasha: The most challenging aspect of running a business is that, despite your best efforts, you may not be able to satisfy everyone or be everyone’s cup of tea.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

I’m not good at jokes, but when we first opened up our “Salon Cafe,” people thought it was a hair salon.

Where can we follow you?

Website | Little White House Co | Little White Manor | Petit Courette

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?

Love Sabas Bistro & Bakery, my go-to for a healthy date & banana breakfast cookie or lunch.
