Julia Skye is a vocalist and contemporary singer/songwriter based in Vancouver, BC. Julia’s musical style combines many influences into a unique blend of pop, indie-rock, jazz harmony and intimate singer/songwriter stylings. Julia performs around the Lower Mainland with various musical ensembles, including a bass and voice duo act with renowned bassist Colin Sankey, a funk-pop cover band called “The Funkyard,” and her own band, which performs her original music. Alumni of the “Singer-Songwriter” music program at Vancouver Community College, Julia also works as a voice teacher and Musical Theatre Co-Director at Motion and Music Performing Arts in New Westminster, and is the Associate Conductor of Ambleside Youth Choir in West Vancouver.
Julia’s debut EP, ‘Think Myself To Sleep,’ was recently released in March 2025. This 7-track EP features all original music recorded in Vancouver by Julia and her band. An intimate singer/songwriter record, ‘Think Myself To Sleep’ combines elements of pop, indie-rock and harmonic twists to support Julia’s vulnerable lyrics.

What is your favourite street in your city and why?
Commercial Drive! Right in my neighbourhood, has so many good restaurants, vintage shops, The Flamingo Room for live music, interesting people, and so walkable.

Victoria Park. Again, right in my area, open space to lay out a blanket with friends and eat some takeout or have drinks in the sun:)
