Five Minutes With: Vancouver Pop Singer Emma Kade

Emma Kade is an acclaimed emerging Canadian Métis artist and songwriter from Creston, a small town in the Kootenay region of British Columbia. Known for her sweet melodies and unforgettable lyrics, Emma crafts music with intricate genre influences and relatable storytelling, emotionally connecting with a wide range of listeners.

A prolific songwriter since her teenage years, Emma released her debut album, “Transparent,” in 2015. This collection of songs, written in her bedroom during high school, is both autobiographical and introspective, drawing lyrical inspiration from blues, country, pop, and folk music.

In 2018, Emma’s artistic efforts were recognized when she won the Kootenay Music Award for Best Pop Song for her work on “Until My Heart Quits,” a song released with Gospel artist Terrance Richmond. This success led to new opportunities on stage, including opening for Canadian Country Hall of Famer Gary Fjellgaard, Tom Cochrane, and Canadian Country Music icons Dean Brody and Brett Kissel. Emma’s songwriting also expanded to include genres like hip-hop, rock, and dance.

Through a series of new songs released in 2021 and 2022, Emma achieved her most popular single to date, “Let Me Go,” a collaboration with brother DJ duo Steam Phunk and the record label Chill Your Mind. The track amassed nearly a million Spotify streams from listeners in over 150 countries.

With the release of her 2024 single “End Game,” Emma’s focus has shifted to a fresh fusion of country and pop genres, continuing to reflect her artistic passion and sonic diversity.
