What is your channel called and what is it about?

A Life Well Consumed is my platform; it started out as a small blog sharing where I ate in the city, what to do on a weekend, and our travels. Then, as life changed, I slowly started to share motherhood, family travel, recipes, home inspiration, and local discoveries. I want to help my audience enjoy a well-lived, well-consumed life without overcomplicating it.

When did you start it? What motivated you at the beginning?

I started it in 2014, and celebrated my 12-year blog anniversary a few months ago! I wanted a creative outlet outside of work and a way to connect with people.

Who were you inspired by? Any influences?

At the time, I was inspired by a few of the original style bloggers, such as Song of Style (Aimee Song), Cupcakes and Cashmere (Emily Schuman), and a couple of local ones, such as Jill Lansky (The August Diaries) and some foodies.

How would you describe your audience?

My audience can be described as modern, lifestyle-focused parents, primarily other moms who value convenience, quality, and meaningful family experiences! They are busy but intentional with their time, looking for trusted recommendations on family-friendly travel, beauty launches, local Vancouver spots, home inspiration, and approachable everyday style. I hope they follow me because my content feels relatable, curated but not out of reach, and genuinely helpful in navigating their everyday family life.

What is your creative process? Do you have people who work with you?

I am always inspired, and take notes on an idea. You should see my notes app; I need to organize it. My husband helps edit my YouTube videos (will be coming back soon with that channel!), he also enjoys the creative aspect of editing.

How do you monetize your content? Do you also have another job?

I am able to monetize through a variety of ways, from sponsored blog posts to sponsored social media content, affiliate links, Google AdSense through YouTube, and MediaVine on the blog. At the moment, I am doing this full-time while also growing my digital marketing agency, Taurus Social, where I create content for other small businesses.

What is your favourite piece of content you have created?

That’s a hard one to answer. I love everything I have put out over the years. I would say my travel guides on the blog are great resources and inspiration for anyone planning trips this year!

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

I would say the best part about what I do here is meeting new people! It’s how I have made some amazing friends, and the experiences we get to do are something I don’t take for granted. There are never any “off” days. I feel we are always trying to think of new content to create and post, but I love the freedom it gives me to spend time with my two little girls.

What are your future plans for your channel?

I’d say my next phase is expanding my role as a trusted lifestyle resource in Vancouver and beyond! Creating more destination guides, elevated everyday content, and high-quality short-form video that is a helpful resource. A brand collaboration would be a dream!
