What is your pre-show ritual?

The night before my performance I work on my set right before I got to bed. Wake up with no alarm. Make sure I have breakfast and lunch and hit the gym, sauna is a must! I can’t eat an hour before performing. Before performing I love listening to calm music and giving my mom a quick call to pray.

What is your favourite place you have performed? Why?

Comedy After Dark ran by Suzy Rawsome! Amazing room, great food, and great staff.

Hecklers in Victoria – such a fun room! It was always packed

What is your favourite bit you have written and why were you proud of it?

My favourite bit I have written is about my family! The name joke. It is about how over time my parents become less strict with the rules in the house. I am proud of this joke because it introduces my family and me. What it was like to live with my parent then and now. The joke is told with the shortest amount of words possible. In the comedy world the quicker you can get a big laugh the better. My name joke gets quick laughs while introducing who my family and I are to the audience.

What is your favourite medium for listening or finding new comics/comedians?

For listening to comics Spotify and Apple Music. YouTube and Instagram are where I find new comics!

I love listening to my comic friends on Spotify because I watched them craft those jokes live and it’s really cool to hear the complete version.

Tell us a joke about your city.

Nobody lies about growing up in Fort McMurray, Alberta. If I was going to lie I would say Wakanda. That is still more believable than a black guy from fort McMurray Alberta.

When people ask me if I grew up in fort McMurray? I don’t like to say I grew up in Fort McMurray I say I did Time in Fort McMurray!

Do you have anything to promote right now?
