Made to Grow BC

What is your business called and what does it do?

Made to Grow Project – A peer-led community of entrepreneurial women that offers support, information and direction, in an effort to make the process of entrepreneurial life an easier one. The original group began out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What made you want to do this work?

Founders Sherry Sobey and Nancy Dutiaume created the community so that others could find the necessary resources, connections and support to grow, not only in business but in life. As a member of the community and a contributing Mindset & Alignment Coach, I was eager to expand the community out west. So we did, launching in April 2023 with the inaugural Networking Brunch in Kelowna that was sold out and a huge success. 8 members of the community from Winnipeg flew out to the Kelowna brunch to celebrate – a huge testament to the sense of community and connection in this group.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

Being an entrepreneur can be a journey that feels isolating at times. Founders Sherry and Nancy believe in the power of collaboration and connection, they connect members with ideal mentors and motivators to help grow their business with confidence and financial success.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Made to Grow is an inclusive community of female entrepreneurs. We strive to cultivate an atmosphere that is welcoming and accepting of opinions, values and ideas. We believe there is room for everyone at this table, the table WE all continue to consciously build.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

Made to Grow Project is an annual membership. As a member, you can participate in weekly group coaching and Meet Ups, workshops, Masterminds and amazing access to the Founders.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

Made to Grow members are a diverse and talented group – dog trainers, podcasters, realtors, mortgage brokers, coaches, healers, photographers, artists, chefs, branding experts, AirBnB hosts, make-up artists, soapmakers, professional organizers, skin care developers and MORE.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

Best question would be “What makes Made to Grow different from other networking groups?”

Made to Grow offers virtual group coaching twice a week as well as workshops and in-person brunches (you do not need to be a member to attend brunches). This community is about support and tactical tools as you move forward with your business.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part is the laughs that we have along the way and the friendships that inevitably develop.

The worst part is having to miss out on Made to Grow events when they are happening in a different city. We are a powerhouse group when you get us all into the same room – that is hard to miss.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

As an entrepreneur, we walk around wearing all of the hats AND many of us raise families as well. It is A LOT.

Where can we follow you?
