Jennica Grienke is a director, producer, teacher, and theatremaker dedicated to making cool things happen for kiddos and the grown-ups in their life. Sometimes that manifests as award-winning direction of plays like Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls (which won 4 Jessie Richardson Awards), sometimes it’s curating dynamic seasons as the Co-Artistic & Managing Director of Carousel Theatre for Young People, or helping vital work tour, like during her past posts at Quest Theatre and Persephone Theatre. She’s a leader, a multitasker, and loves a good laugh. And no matter where you find her, she will bring the perfect combination of professionalism and goodhearted joy. Jennica is a past instructor at Studio 58 and a seasoned performer who likes to laugh, and this line of work requires lots of laughter or it’s all for nothing.

Which ’hood are you in?
I live in beautiful Mount Pleasant and have the nicest bike ride along False Creek to my theatre on Granville Island!
What do you do?
I am a theatre director, actor and producer currently the Co-Artistic and Managing Director of Carousel Theatre for Young People
What are you currently working on?
I LOVE making magical and formative experiences for young people through the power of theatre – I just directed a play for Carousel Theatre called OZ! It’s a little bit of a backstory for how The Wizard of Oz came to be and a little bit of the story itself.
