Favourite musician growing up:
When I was growing up and learning how to play guitar in the 80s, it was the golden era of old-school heavy metal. One of my favourite artists at that time was Ozzy Osbourne. He always had amazing guitarists.
Favourite musician now:
The Darkness consistently put out great music and their most recent album, which came out just last year is no exception.
Guilty pleasure song:
I try not to feel too guilty about liking anything, but Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque by The Partridge Family might fit the bill. I love that tune!
Live show ritual:
I usually do some stretches, a few vocal warmups, and some tongue twisters, etc.
Favourite local musician:
My friend Scott Rocker has a few different projects and he always seems to have something new and interesting coming out.
EP or LP?
As a fan I like LPs, but as an independent artist sometimes EPs are more feasible. Midnight Sparrows’ latest release, Born In The City, is 6 songs so it could be considered either an EP or an LP depending on how you define it.
Early bird or night owl?
Night Owl
Road or studio?
These days it’s more studio, but I would love to take Midnight Sparrows on the road at some point.
Any shows or albums coming up?
Midnight Sparrows’ latest release, Born In The City, just came out on November 4 th. I expect to be planning a show for Vancouver in the near future so stay tuned.
