Meg James is a Vancouver-Based singer-songwriter whose musical journey began long before she ever entered a studio. Raised in the Okanagan, she grew up immersed in the world of competitive dance, developing an early connection to music through movement. That instinct evolved into creative writing and songwriting. As a kid, she always had melodies, lines and ideas popping into her head. The emotions she once expressed through dance found a new home in her voice. After relocating to Vancouver to work in the film industry, Meg began carving out her place in music with her unfiltered writing and sound rooted in honesty and instinct.

My pre-show ritual is simple but meaningful. I like wearing one of my dad’s old t-shirts for sound check. It’s comfy while I’m warming up, and it keeps me connected to where I come from and what brought me to my music.
