Five Minutes With: Garage-Pop Artist Alex Little

Vancouver-born songwriter Alex Little grew up steeped in creativity. Raised by her father, drummer Taylor Little, and her mother, visual artist Pauline White, she came of age on a soundtrack of The Replacements, Bowie, The Beatles, and Iggy Pop. She first picked up the drums in high school before eventually finding her voice at the front of her own bands. After time in several punk outfits (including Vapid), she co-founded Alex Little and the Suspicious Minds, earning a reputation for raw, melodic songs with a sharp indie-rock bite.

With her new EP Spider in the Sink, Little steps out fully under her own name, refining a sound that blends garage-rock grit, new-wave hooks, and a touch of tongue-in-cheek swagger. Co-written with guitarist and partner Adam Sabla, the songs channel nervy energy and emotional precision — reflections on fear, pressure, resilience, and the slow, deliberate work of becoming fully yourself.
