It is a cruelty-free and vegan brand that aims to highlight a person’s natural beauty instead of hiding it. Inspired by her Latin American background, her newest lipgloss collection is nothing short of fuego. We got a chance to interview Jada Cianne Arriola. She spoke about her newest lipgloss collection “JUST JUICY” and much more. Our readers get the inside scoop on the innovative design behind the lip glosses, as well as what inspired her to start a makeup brand of her own.
What is your business called and what does it do?
Jada Cianne Artistry- We are a Latina Owned cruelty-free and vegan beauty brand selling a 13-shade lipgloss collection called ‘JUST JUICY’ that is suitable for all skin tones. Our lipglosses all have a built-in mirror & LED light for touching up anywhere and everywhere you go. Jada Cianne Artistry is influenced by our CEO’s Latina American background and all the lipglosses are named after the most important women in her family. Our brand values your natural beauty and authentic self. We believe that makeup is an art form and is used to enhance one’s features rather than eliminate them.
What made you want to do this work?
I have been a professional make-up artist for 6 years and have always dreamt of having my own makeup brand, but never thought I was quite ready. In January of 2022 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (a chronic, typically progressive disease involving damage to the sheaths of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, whose symptoms may include numbness, impairment of speech, and of muscular coordination, blurred vision, and severe fatigues.) and with this particular diagnosis, my doctors and I didn’t quite have a sense of how quickly it may affect my body. I did not want to let go of my love for makeup therefore, I decided to create my own beauty brand continuing to pursue my makeup dreams. We fully launched at the end of August 2022.
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
I would say our product fixed two problems. #1 I have had many clients/models in my chair with the constant comment of ‘Why does lipgloss have to always be so sticky?’. My pet peeve as an artist was a lipgloss that had so much stick and not enough moisture. Our lipglosses changed the game with being a non-sticky gloss that still gives your lips that hydration you need. It contains Vitamin E & Shea Butter. #2 When touching up your makeup or lips in different settings, the lighting is always so unpredictable and there is a slight chance you’ll have access to a mirror. The idea of having a lip product that contains a built-in mirror and led light came to me as a family member at dinner one night was applying their lip product on while another member was holding their phone camera and flashlight for them to see their application. Sometimes we don’t want to get up to go to the bathroom or pull out our phones just to fix-up our makeup. Our lipglosses are compactible, light to carry and you can apply it anywhere and everywhere you go. It’s also a great head turner and conversation starter.
Who are your clientele/demographics?
Our primary customers are a vast range of minimalists to avid beauty lovers with an age range of 25-50 year olds. I find our mature demographic tends to ADORE how convenient our product truly is.

We are a Vancouver based beauty brand, but we sell exclusively online at www.jadacianneartistry.com. We are now also in-stores at The Nooks Gastown in Downtown Vancouver. Come visit our display where you can test our lipglosses in person!

What sets you apart from other beauty brands that sell lipglosses? One of our BEST answers is, ALL our lipglosses come with a built-in mirror and light! I bet you haven’t seen that before. Along with being cruelty-free & vegan our packaging is recyclable. We want to contribute positively to our earth. We have 13 shades that range from shimmers to everyday neutrals to bolds. You can have a lipgloss for each of your moods and as we mentioned before, our lipgloss formulation is non-sticky. It’s quite comfortable to the lips.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part of what I do is having a product that no matter age or skin tone, it makes people fall in love instantly and use it confidently. The way everyone’s face lights up the moment they see what our product can do makes me so excited. I especially love seeing my name and my products in other people’s makeup routines or makeup kits. I also love how creative I can be with my line of work. The worst part about my job is the constant feeling of having to create content and push your product to people who may be skeptical about lipgloss or makeup in general. People tend to shy away from lipgloss as they may not feel as confident having it on or applying it. Plus we have the constant comparison to other very well known products/brands. Having a self-made business that starts from basically nothing, I tend to always have to find different ways to sell my product THAT much more to even make a sale.
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
I love that people joke around about how this particular profession is super easy and being ‘self-employed’ is nothing but staying home and never doing ‘real’ work. When you have your own business you almost have to work 10x harder and think of more than 100 ways to make income and yourself known.
