Nestled in West Point Grey, Ann Glauser’s studio serves as a creative sanctuary where nature’s beauty inspires each unique piece. Blue Trimble Designs specializes in crafting exquisite jewelry that combines the ethereal allure of crystals with the playful elegance of pearls, beads, and natural treasures. Ann’s commitment to making raw crystal jewelry approachable and versatile reflects her desire to create pieces that elevate everyday wear while maintaining a polished aesthetic.
What is your business called and what does it do?
Blue Trimble Designs is all about unique, handmade jewelry that’s rooted in the beauty of crystals while bringing in the playful allure of pearls, beads, and natural treasures. Every piece brings a bit of nature’s magic into something wearable.
What made you want to do this work?
I’ve always felt a pull to work with my hands. There’s something grounding and satisfying about crafting each piece.
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
I wanted raw crystal jewelry to feel approachable, easy, and a bit elevated. I wanted pieces that feel polished and versatile—something you’d reach for daily but that still feels special.
Who are your clientele/demographics?
Our community is made up of crystal lovers and people who appreciate a carefree, natural style. Many are moms, like me, and most are local to Vancouver. But really, it’s for anyone who finds joy in unique and meaningful accessories.
How does your business make money? How does it work?
I sell my pieces through several channels. I have an online shop, but you can also find me at local markets and pop-ups around Vancouver. I’m grateful for my repeat customers and those who reach out for custom designs!
Where in the city can we find your profession?
My studio space is located in West Point Grey. It’s a little creative hub that’s come together over the years, surrounded by nearby ocean and forest—nature is a huge inspiration for me.
What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.
A great question to ask is: “Are the materials high quality?” I use durable, tarnish-resistant materials to make sure each piece is long-lasting. Quality and longevity are always top priorities.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part? Seeing my creations on someone, helping them feel their best when matched with a great outfit. Plus, I love working for myself and having the freedom to work around family life. The challenge? It’s a one-woman show, and finding a balance between staying busy enough to make it worthwhile but not getting overwhelmed is an ongoing juggle.
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
“She’s making jewelry now!” That line from Portlandia still gets me every time. It’s an oldie now, but I remember watching it years ago and laughing (and crying a bit) at how accurately it captured my life.
Where can we follow you?
Instagram – That’s where you’ll find my latest creations and updates. You can also subscribe to my newsletter on the website, or make a studio appointment for a visit.
