Erick Lichte has somehow figured out a way to live his life in surround sound.
Erick spends his days enveloped in sound – beautiful music, informative podcasts, and voices of other creators who spend their time living out what they know to be possible. Erick surrounds himself with inspiration and in turn, commits his own energy to enrich the soundscapes of others. He believes that the music we make with each other and for each other can sustain us and deepen our humanity.
Erick is a rabid Green Bay Packers fan and an IPA aficionado. He loves to camp and hike and look at mountains while being in them. He is an audiophile who has cryogenically frozen all of his speaker cables. Clutter disturbs him. He does a good deal of cooking, but very little baking. His temperament is a strange combination of easy-going and difficult.
Erick Lichte has been the Artistic Director of Vancouver’s Chor Leoni for 10 years and before that, founded and directed a full-time classical vocal ensemble. He is also a co-creator of All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, a historical a cappella musical, which has played all over the world.
He was born in Wisconsin and has lived in Minneapolis, Portland and now lives in East Vancouver with his amazing wife Ashley.
