Five Minutes With: Folk/Blues Musician Carly Reirson

Carly Reirson is an Alberta-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter with a gift for telling the truth — gently, bravely, and straight from the heart. With a voice that can be tender one moment and soaring the next, she writes songs that sit with loss, lean into resilience, and celebrate love in all its quiet, complicated beauty. Her latest album, Diary of a Beating Heart (produced by Juno Award-winner Murray Pulver), is a deeply personal collection of songs shaped by grief, healing, and renewal, and it carries a warmth that feels like being let in rather than spoken at.

Onstage, Carly creates a space that feels intimate and welcoming, where listeners can exhale and really listen. Known for her emotive vocals, old-soul presence, and raw, thoughtful lyricism, her performances linger long after the final note — less like a show, and more like a shared moment.

Her February 21st show at Granville Island’s Revue Stage marks the first night of a special three-city homecoming tour, celebrating the places that have shaped both her life and her music. It’s a full-circle moment in her career — sharing this record in the cities she has called home, surrounded by the artists, friends, family, and supporters who’ve been part of the journey. The Vancouver show will be a full band performance, bringing Diary of a Beating Heart to life in its fullest, most expansive form.

Right now, I am getting ready for my first major homecoming tour, performing my latest record, Diary of A Beating Heart, in the three major cities that have been and are my hometowns, the first one being Vancouver! With a special appearance by a string quartet, this show will be the biggest production of my career. Playing alongside some of Vancouver’s elite musicians, and showcasing local artist, Phoenix Lauren, it is a show you will not want to miss! Tickets available here.
