Duke is a big, lovable guy ready to start his next chapter in life. At 5 years old, this German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix is used to having plenty of outdoor space, and he’d love a home where he can still enjoy a yard to roam and relax. But more than anything, he’s ready to settle into life inside the home, where he can soak in all the love and attention from his new family.
He is easily won over with a few treats, and he’ll be your best friend in no time. Duke enjoys going for walks and does pretty well on leash, but he’s a strong dog, so he’ll need someone confident and comfortable handling a big boy like him.
One of the most important things for Duke’s future family will be helping him manage his allergies. He’s currently on medication to get things under control, and while his skin is improving, it’s still a work in progress. He’ll need someone willing to stay on top of his treatment and help him feel his best.
Duke has shown some resource guarding, so a home that understands and respects his boundaries is important. He can also be reactive to other dogs and will do best as the only pet in the home.
Duke is happiest when he’s with people-whether he’s out on a walk, playing in the yard, or just soaking up some love and pets. He’s a sweet dog who is ready and waiting for his place to call home.
