Homegrown Business: Gayla DeHart of UROSPOT

Vancouver is about to welcome a game-changer in pelvic health with the arrival of UROSPOT, a pioneering clinic dedicated to tackling bladder leaks, urgency, and frequency with a non-invasive, science-backed approach. Gayla DeHart, franchise owner of UROSPOT Vancouver, is on a mission to break the stigma surrounding pelvic health and provide real solutions for those who have been told to simply “live with it.” With its innovative technology, expert health coaching, and a commitment to making the “taboo talkable,” UROSPOT is set to revolutionize the way people regain control of their bodies—without surgery, medication, or embarrassment. The first Vancouver location opened in South Granville in April, with a second clinic launching in North Vancouver later this year.

UROSPOT

What is your business called and what does it do?

My business is UROSPOT, and we’re on a mission to revolutionize pelvic health. Our clinics provide a non-invasive, scientifically proven treatment for bladder leaks, urgency, and frequency. We combine innovative technology, education, and health coaching to offer people an entirely new way to take back control of their bodies—without surgery, medication, or embarrassment.

At UROSPOT, we make the taboo talkable. People have been told for generations that bladder leaks are just “a normal part of aging” or “what happens after childbirth.” But the truth is, just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s normal. You deserve better. That’s why I wanted to bring UROSPOT to Vancouver.

What made you want to do this work?

I became a UROSPOT franchise owner because I saw firsthand how life-changing this service can be. As someone who had struggled with bladder leaks and urgency, I was shocked at how few real solutions were available. When I learned about UROSPOT’s innovative technology that restores and strengthens the pelvic floor without surgery or invasive procedures, I knew this was something I wanted to be part of.

What drew me in even more was UROSPOT’s mission to treat pelvic health with dignity, warmth, and expertise. So many women—and men—are silently suffering, accepting incontinence as just a fact of life. I wanted to bring this solution to my community and help people regain their confidence.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

The problem is twofold: medical dismissal and societal stigma.

People are told bladder leaks and urgency are just “part of life.” They’re handed a pack of pads or told to do exercises at home that most don’t stick with. Women, in particular, have been conditioned to believe this is just part of motherhood or aging. That’s not true. However, many of the options people are given are invasive, ineffective, or unappealing.

At UROSPOT, we bring science, technology, and education together to change the conversation. We’re making it clear: leaks, urgency, and frequency aren’t things you have to live with. There’s a solution.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Our clients are anyone experiencing bladder leaks, urgency, or frequency, which primarily consists of perimenopausal/menopausal women and new moms, though men also seek treatment. We also serve people with sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction or low libido.

People come to UROSPOT because they don’t want to plan their life around the nearest bathroom or worry about leaks during workouts, meetings, or vacations. They want their freedom back—and that’s what we help them achieve.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

Clients pay for non-invasive pelvic floor therapy, which includes education, health coaching, and technology-driven treatments.

Clients first arrive at our clinic for a complimentary consultation with one of our experts. From there, UROSPOT customizes a care plan, incorporating education and health coaching to empower clients and foster a sense of freedom as they progress.

During sessions, clients remain fully clothed while sitting on a Health Canada- and FDA-approved chair that strengthens and restores the pelvic floor. Each session is equivalent to doing 11,000 Kegels in 28 minutes. We track progress, provide coaching, and celebrate every client’s journey to freedom.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

UROSPOT clinics are now open across Canada, including our newest location in South Granville, Vancouver, at the Hycroft Medical Building (3195 Granville Street, Unit 08).

We’re also preparing to welcome you this autumn at our upcoming North Vancouver clinic at #213-131 East 13th Street.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services?

Question: What makes UROSPOT different from other pelvic health treatments?

Answer: UROSPOT offers a fully clothed, non-invasive solution that uses advanced energy-based technology to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and restore the neuromuscular connection between the brain, bladder, and pelvic floor. Clinical studies show 95% of clients experience significant quality-of-life improvements, and two-thirds eliminate or significantly reduce the use of pads.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

Best part: Seeing clients walk in frustrated and hopeless, then leave with their freedom and confidence restored. Watching someone go from “I just have to live with this” to “I got my life back” never gets old.

Worst part: Hearing from people who’ve gone to the wrong provider and didn’t get the results they deserved. Not all pelvic health treatments are created equal, and too many people waste time and money on options that don’t deliver real, lasting change.

At UROSPOT, we’re committed to science-backed, non-invasive treatment that actually works, so no one has to feel like they’re out of options or stuck with incontinence.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

They say laughter is the best medicine—unless you have incontinence. Then it’s Kegels.

Before coming to UROSPOT, a lot of our clients would cross their legs before laughing at jokes. Now, they can just enjoy the moment without a second thought. That’s the kind of freedom we love giving people!
