Five Minutes With: Vancouver Blues Rock Band The Canyon Riders

The Canyon Riders is a hard-hitting rock band from Vancouver, BC, Canada. These gentlemen provide a sound that brings the rich traditions of country, blues, and rock and roll music together in sonic harmony, giving a new take to a familiar sound. Bound by a tight, heart-pounding rhythm section, the Canyon Riders often showcase duelling guitar improvisation, reminiscent of Southern rock. All highlighted with gritty and passionate vocals influenced by classic blues singers and honky tonkers.

Rapid Fire Local Questions:

What is your favourite local restaurant?

Not exactly a restaurant, but we have to show love to The Cat and Fiddle Pub in Poco—best spot in town, hands down.

What is your favourite street in your city and why?

In Vancouver, probably Granville St.—it’s got so many iconic venues, and it’s always a party!

What is your favourite park in your city and why?

Settlers Park in Port Coquitlam. When we were starting out, we’d steal power from the washrooms and hold some pretty sweet concerts there. We’d usually play until the cops came!!

What is your favourite music venue in your city?

The Roxy Vancouver!!! Best place in town, and they treat us really good every time we play there!

What is your favourite music store in your city?

Long & McQuade Poco—they always pull through when we need them, and our brother Charles has been hooking us up with the best sound gear for years!
