Rafiki the dog is looking for a new home in the Vancouver area

Hi! My name is Rafiki (or Kozak as my foster family calls me!) I’m a real homebody who loves nothing more than to cuddle up to you on the couch as you watch TV or play video games!

I also love belly rubs, playing tug of war and fetch with my toys, and sitting next to you as you work. I have a fun, silly personality, and still have a bit of puppy awkwardness that my foster family finds very endearing! I also love meeting other dogs on my walks. My favourite type of walk involves going to fields and being able to follow my favourite scents wherever they lead. I would probably be a great hiking companion once I get more confident in the world.

As I try to improve my leash manners and try to develop a love for walks, I would flourish in a home with a yard or a large patio where I can play fetch with my favourite toys and go for a pee when needed, particularly when the world is making me a bit nervous and I need a safe place to exercise in.

Although I had a difficult start in life and can be fearful of strangers and loud sounds, I have been blossoming as an older puppy/teenager, and can now walk past strangers or even enter an elevator full of people calmly.

I would do well as a buddy to another dog or a confident dog-savvy cat who is okay playing with dogs, or as an only pet. I would also do well in a home with a dog-savvy kid older than six as I do see them as little playmates and they might not understand how I play.
