Meet Leia! This special lady came into our care when a good Samaritan discovered her in a cardboard box along with a written note pleading for someone to take her and love her. For this reason, we are unsure of her history. From what we have seen so far, Leia is an independent woman who does things on her own terms! She enjoys doing her own thing but will come to you for pats and attention when she wants to socialize. Leia’s foster mom tells us that she enjoys exploring the house, lying on laptops and supervising the household from her cat tree. We believe that Leia will be the most successful in a small, quiet adult-only home without any other animals. She should also go into a home with someone who is familiar with cats’ body language and their quickly changing moods! She does not like when she is alone for extended periods during the day so someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal.
She is constantly seeking out love and attention during the day and likes to be by herself in the evenings. Since she has a lovely, long coat we have been working on getting her used to being regularly brushed. The foster has told us that this is progressing wonderfully.
It will be important that you understand cat boundaries. She is very easily annoyed 😂 but also very communicative about when you’ve upset her (growls and yowls and hisses, and then immediately forgive you two seconds later)
Here are some other things that the foster has noted about her colourful personality: SUPER vocal, like we have actual conversations. Yet she politely stays quiet while we’re sleeping! Doesn’t scratch furniture or eat my plants. Leia Likes to be involved in whatever you’re doing. You cannot sit on a couch alone anymore and is getting more and more playful every day!
