Gelato the cat is looking for a new home in the Vancouver area

Gelato came to us from a large group of cats so he has had a pretty rough start to life. He would do well in a home that is willing to give him time to adjust to his new surroundings. He is currently in foster and doing really well.

In addition to chasing string and feathers, Gelato seems to like “bird TV”.

He is currently in foster and recently met a new person and that went pretty well. Gelato was a bit shy but he chirped and rolled over to make air biscuits.

Here are some notes from our wonderful foster:

Gelato is skittish. He still holds back a little when I enter the room, but shortly comes for timid pats. He does warm up a lot and wants patting and brushing and play, but he’s timid.

Gelato jumps at most small or unexpected noises and sometimes jumps when he sees unexpected objects. He seems to prefer being in a single room to being in the whole house. He likes some of the other rooms of the house and does settle in after a time. See the photos of him curling up on my lap and enjoying the couch in the living room, but Gelato seems most at ease in a single smaller single room.
