What is your business called and what does it do?

We are Plant Veda, a plant based food company that is focused on shifting humanity to a plant based lifestyle starting with all natural Plant Based dairy.

We have created award winning products including plant-based lassi’s (probiotic drinkable yogurts), plant-based coffee creamers and milks all with wholesome ingredients and sweetened only with pure Canadian maple syrup and agave.

What made you want to do this work?

My father had passed away from Heart Disease and when we learned that by shifting our lifestyle to whole foods plant-based diet we would have reversed my father’s heart disease it became our mission to educate people and provide great alternatives which tastes great and also are made from whole natural ingredients.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

The problem is many people are addicted to Dairy products because of the taste and also think that dairy is good for us but which is not true as dairy contains (cholesterol, saturated fats and animal protein), dairy is also not good for the environment and our karma.

Now if we look around we don’t find many options for wholesome plant-based dairy products that which taste great and are not sweetened with sugars, contain no oils and unnecessary additives.

So we started Plant Veda so we can provide the plant-based dairy products which taste great so my father who used to start and end his day with dairy would have loved them too.

Who is our clientele/demographics?

Our clientele includes anyone and everyone who wants to explore the side of plant-based, dairy-free eating. The future is plant-based, so we all will eventually wean off dairy. One of the many promising studies we looked at during our research phase showed that 29% of eaters are now “Flexitarians” which means that although they eat a wide variety of foods, they are trying to eat less animal foods and more plant-based foods.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

Plant Veda makes money by creating phenomenal, high-quality, and great tasting dairy-alternatives. Repeat customers and word of mouth are not uncommon when you have a quality product that consumers enjoy.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

You can find us in the Greater Vancouver area with our facility in Delta, BC.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

Looking from a customer’s point of view, a comparison of services depends on a variety of things. But the best and most important question a prospective customer could ask would be what the ingredients are used in our products and are they high quality. We are proud to say that we use a blend of raw, heart-healthy cashews, fiber-rich Canadian gluten-free oats, and Canadian pea protein, cultured with billions of live probiotics good for the gut, with maple sweetened and unsweetened options, along with antioxidant-rich BC blueberries and strawberries, and select healing and comforting herbs, spices from the traditional Ayurvedic kitchen.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part of what we do at Plant Veda is being able to provide the masses with nutritional, quality, plant-based, dairy-free, and cruelty-free products that taste delicious. It also gives us great recognition to see the feedback on social media and reviews, and of course- our loyal customers.

And I wouldn’t call it “the worst part”, but going up against a 490 Billion dollar industry can be daunting, but on the flip side, seeing the trends and knowing that plant-based is the future and that the global prediction of the plant-based dairy market is expected to reach $21.5 Billion by 2024, is extremely promising and we know we are all moving in the right direction.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

One does not come to mind now.
